L.A. Kitchen’s new cultural programming series is where culture, education, and volunteerism vibrantly intersect. These volunteer service days will be enhanced by opportunities to learn about the diverse cultures in L.A. with a short cooking demo or talk before a hands-on Kitchen Prep service.
In May, L.A. Kitchen is honoring Asian Pacific Heritage Month with a three-part event series. We are excited to partner with our friends from API Forward Movement to host two great events which showcase the rich and diverse cultures within the Asian American community.
On May 20th, join us to hear guest Speaker Kyle Tsukahira, Program Manager of the Roots Food Hub at API Forward Movement.
Roots Food Hub CSA is a program to get fresh, sustainably grown, and culturally relevant produce into Asian and Pacific Islander communities who lack access, whilst supporting local Asian American farmers.
Kyle will speak in depth about the Asian American farmers in the program, the produce, the vision of the Roots Food Hub and how it fits into API Forward Movement's work with Asian Pacific Islander communities. Following Kyle's talk volunteers will engage in Kitchen Prep volunteer service, prepping meals for fellow Angelenos.
